Google Arts & Culture app is rolling out visual answers and a discovery feed preview

Explore collections by asking questions

People exploring art and history can now ask questions in their own words in the refreshed Google Arts & Culture mobile app. Its new conversational search pairs explanations with images and curated stories from partner archives, giving users a way to browse cultural material through a question rather than a category.

The redesigned homepage brings short cultural stories, daily highlights and access to interactive features into one feed. An expanded City Guide covers 27 newly added destinations, with local cultural landmarks and real-time cultural events. Google does not name those destinations in the announcement.

Try interactive features

Two new AI experiments offer different ways to explore. Chrono Look lets users virtually try on historical attire through sketches and realistic renderings. Dial-an-Artist offers simulated conversations with historical artists about their work; it is not a conversation with the artists themselves.

Google says the updated app began rolling out globally on September 28 through Google Play and the Apple App Store. A rollout does not mean everyone receives the update at once. The announcement does not specify pricing or which languages the conversational search supports.
